We were reflecting on 2023 – a year of growth, rebranding, opportunities, and success. From small victories to big milestones, each moment is a part of our path in 2023.
A Year of Remodeling
This year was a year of a special celebration for ALFATEC as we presented the new look of our office. This journey started over a year ago with the complete rebranding, so the grand finale was following – a few months later the interior design was telling our brand story and encircled the rebranding.
A Year of Expanding Outreach
The beginning of 2023 brought us amazing news we shared with the world in our first press conference – the financial year 2022 was one of the best Alfatec's history!
Other than that, the Alfateam took part in 26 conferences and hosted 4 important events. One of them was our first successful #Alfahack which attracted freshmen to graduate students, mostly from FER, FOI, TVZ, and PMF.
Other opportunities to meet fellow students, so important for the steady and reliable growth of our company were Job Fair 2023 by FER, 12th Career Week at FOI, Career Day at TVZ, and JobIT in Zadar.
We are extremely glad that students recognized our expertise and expressed great interest in employment in all the sectors we have.
A Year of Professional Growth
The Business Intelligence division emphasized our specialized solutions in 2023; Boris Škorić, director of the division, participated in a panel discussion on the future of technology, sustainability, marketing, and innovation, at this year's "Wave 4 Tourism" conference. Another great opportunity to discuss and present our solutions to potential users in the hospitality industry was the HOW Festival 2023.
AI in hospitality is revolutionizing the hotel industry by enhancing the guest experience through personalization and automation. That was the topic Boris Škorić discussed at the 25th Hotelier Congress, organized by UPUHH.
We stand out with Alfatec Elarion Controlling Engine a unique analytical solution intended for business users, which enables them to define methods of calculating business indicators (KPIs) in a dynamic data warehouse. We organized Controlling Engine workshops in 2023, and we thank all of you who participated.
Our Security sector had an outstanding year; at the Thales NIS2/DORA Bootcamp discussion was about the upcoming NIS2 Directive and the DORA Regulation. At FORCEPOINT DLP Bootcamp we learned about all the important news related to Forcepoint portfolio solutions.
We proudly talked about the HYBRID “Hydrogen Battlefield Reconnaissance and Intelligence Drone” project in the process of development, officially funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF), on Adriatic Sea Defence & Aerospace - ASDA 2023. Hereafter, we discussed homeland security with a particular focus on artificial intelligence at the Croatian Chamber of Economy Conference "Croatian Defense Industry Day". Visiting EUROFED 2023 and ISS World Europe also gave us a fresh perspective on the industry and many business opportunities.
At the end of the year, together with our partner Thales, we proudly supported the Alert Cybersecurity Conference. The event brought together experts and companies in the field of cybersecurity to share best practices and experiences. Last but not least, in 2023 was Finovate Adria Conference, to promote business agility and encourage the application of innovations in the financial sector.
AI was also a leading topic in other events we participated in, such as #ZadarConnect and #CROai. There will be more to come in this area, as ALFATEC Group became a proud member of the CroAI Croatian AI Association. We didn't miss the opportunity to shift our world at Shift Conference 2023.
A Year of Finalizations
We're proud to say we successfully concluded three European Union projects that brought many great opportunities in business, development, and growth:
- Internationalization of business by introducing the "DWEM Hospitality service"
- Development of CSTI platform for retrieval and analysis of structured and unstructured data
- Commercialization of advanced management support systems for large hotel groups using AI "ELARION HOSPITALITY"
A Year of Celebrations
Expanding our team always brings joy to the office, so we welcomed Matija, Đuro, Dario, Ivana, and Ivan in 2023! And when a newborn #Alfateam member comes, sweetness arrives - that happened three times in 2023! Lucky us!
We did some team bonding at our yearly team building, important for our working atmosphere, and we celebrated the end of the year at our Christmas party.
