The end of September seemed like the perfect time for our official teambuilding event. Though traditionally held in May each year, this time our business commitments took priority, so instead of spring, we chose early autumn for our gathering. For many of us, this was our first teambuilding, but it will certainly remain a fond memory. Here’s why.
On Friday, we gathered at the crack of dawn and set off from Zagreb. After a lively drive where no one slept, we arrived in Karanac, a small village in the heart of Baranja. We were greeted with a welcome drink and some snacks before diving into fun activities like battle archery and human table football, which brought plenty of laughter and sparked our competitive spirit. Afterward, we enjoyed lunch at the renowned Baranjska kuća restaurant, savoring authentic local delicacies and specialties, along with the beautiful sunny weather, which reached a high of 29°C.
We spent the evening in Beli Manastir, enjoying dinner, socializing, and partying late into the night, with local tamburitza musicians adding to the festive atmosphere.
After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, Saturday began with a rainy tour of Osijek, where a local guide took us through the Old Town (Tvrđa) and the historic city center, including the Osijek Cathedral. We marveled at the sights, many of which were new to almost half of the Alfateam. We then had lunch at Projekt9 restaurant, which impressed us with its combination of local and modern cuisine.
To cap off our trip, we headed to Kutjevo and Galić Winery, one of the most impressive wineries in Croatia. There, we toured the cellar and wine production facilities while enjoying wine tastings paired with delicious bites, and quite a few of us took home some wine as souvenirs.
We returned to Zagreb in the evening, filled with memories and impressions. While we had fewer team activities this time, we brought back countless fun stories that will be retold in the office for weeks to come and remain in our memories for even longer!
