A sector workshop was held this week, organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK), that focused on the significance and possible applications of artificial intelligence in tourism. Our Senior Hospitality Sales Consultant, Ivana Perković, was among the esteemed speakers at the event.
The workshop aimed to introduce stakeholders in the tourism industry to the best examples of AI usage globally and to inform them about the available knowledge in the market. This primarily included domestic IT companies and their current activities in this field.
With more than sixteen years of experience in the hotel sector, Ivana Perković brought exceptional industry knowledge to Alfatec Group and assumed an important role in the Business Intelligence department, where she works together with the team and the Alfatec Research & Development department to design SaaS solutions for the hotel industry. She presented ELARION Hospitality and ELARION Chatbot, two of Alfatec’s SaaS solutions that use artificial intelligence to automate hotel operational processes, personalize communication with guests, increase bookings, and improve user experience on different communication channels.
During her presentation, she discussed the main expectations that potential users have in the tourism industry. These include the customization of solutions and training of artificial intelligence models specific to hotel companies and the industry as a whole. She also talked about the implementation process and the importance of integrations with various hotel systems such as Property Management Systems (PMS) and Booking Engines. Additionally, she highlighted the advanced functionalities of the solutions that Alfatec is currently working on and expected future trends in AI application development.
She concluded her presentation by emphasizing the importance of mutual interaction between the hoteliers and IT companies as a key for the development of highly applicable, AI-based hotel solutions, which will ensure a significant improvement of operational hotel processes and influence the increase in employee productivity, as well as hotel revenues, considering the spectrum of available knowledge sources needed for training such systems.
